Our story, that of Châteaux Solidaires, could be told in the style of a modern fantasy...

It all began at the end of the 1930s, at a time when France found herself in a critical situation. The crisis of 1929 necessitated far-reaching economic renewal; political instability heralded the end of the 3rd Republic; and, most importantly, war was on the horizon.

At the time, much work was needed to restructure the vineyards of Bordeaux.

Faced with chaotic and uncertain conditions, a handful of Côtes de Bordeaux winemakers decided that in the word 'crisis' there is the idea of 'chance': the chance to renew and regroup in order to 'live their craft' better, to produce modern wines, and to advance together! And so Châteaux Solidaires was born in 1937.

Today, around twenty winemakers have rejoined this movement of quality and solidarity. It's with force and conviction that we work together to give life to the wines behind this dream.

Behind each château, there's a winemaker and a personal challenge. However, it's by working together that each personal challenge is confronted by the winemakers of Châteaux Solidaires.

Châteaux Solidaires is above all a team. A team in which synergies work together, and a team animated by a single and unique objective: that your 'vinous' dream becomes a reality. Thus, each member devotes himself to that which he knows best, in order to bring the maximum care to our wines. And winemakers benefit, through their Châteaux Solidaires affiliation, from the latest technology and expert oenological advice, and they know how to adapt their wines to consumers' tastes.

Because a good wine begins with good grapes, the winemakers have all the time they need to devote themselves to the correct cultivation of their vines, sharing their know-how and experience on the way. Production for each château is then vinified one by one with the greatest respect for the individuality of the winemaker, the terroir, and the personality of the wine.

In Bordeaux, the true and ethical chateaux are our Châteaux Solidaires!
