Welcome to the cave des chateaux. Presentation.
The Blaye Winery, Cave des Châteaux de Blayais, was founded in 1937 by a handful of vine growers facing their latest financial crisis.
Today it consists of around twenty members, eight of whom represent 90% of the total 175 hectares of vineyard surface, of which
2.5 hectares is given to white grape production.
The particularity of our winery rests in the fact that 8 of our vine growers possess their own Château appellation, as their wine making is carried out independently.
Each proprietor possesses his own tanks and barrels, as would an independent winemaker. The Cave des Châteaux is therefore the common factor enabling lower cost commercialisation for each château.
The wines made in our winery are produced from grapes grown on the best 'Premières Cotes de Blaye' soil.
